To calibrate the EatSmart ESBS-05 Precision Digital Bathroom Scale, follow these steps:
1. Install Batteries: Unwrap the 2 AAA batteries included with the scale and insert them into the battery compartment located on the underside of the unit. Make sure to match the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside the battery cover. Close the cover.
2. Place on a Hard, Flat Surface: Find a hard, flat surface in your bathroom to place the scale. This will ensure accurate weight measurements. Avoid using the scale on carpeted or uneven floors.
3. Auto-Calibration: If the scale turns on during the setup process, you may see a small amount of weight register (e.g., 5.6 lbs) followed by a "C" appearing on the display. This indicates that the scale is auto-calibrating. Allow the scale to turn off.
4. Weigh Yourself: Once the scale is calibrated, you can step on the scale and weigh yourself normally. Make sure to place both feet on the center of the glass platform and stand still. Your weight will appear on the backlit LCD display, and it will blink three times when your final weight has been calculated.
Note: If you move the scale again and it turns on while being moved, you will need to repeat the calibration process.
5. Low Battery Indicator: Replace the batteries when the scale indicates "LO" on the display. New batteries should last for approximately one year under moderate use.
