To assemble the LEM 1779 Electric Meat Grinder, follow these steps:
1. Wash all parts of the head assembly in hot soapy water before use. Do not put parts in the dishwasher.
2. Remove the retaining ring, grinding plate, knife, and auger from the grinder head. Make sure the star bolt on the side of the motor coupler is backed all the way out.
3. Insert the grinder head into the motor coupler so that the auger fits properly into the gear. The head should be positioned upright.
4. Check the back of the head to ensure the bushing is installed.
5. Insert the auger into the grinder head and turn until it slips into the shaft of the motor.
6. Place the knife on the square auger stud with the blades facing out.
7. Place the grinding plate on the auger stud in front of the knife, making sure the notch in the plate is on the locating pin in the head. The cutting edge of the knife should be facing and flush against the grinding plate.
8. xxxx the retaining ring onto the head until tight. Hand-tighten, but do not over-tighten.
9. Insert the meat pan into the grinder head securely and snap the pan holder onto the handle.
