To connect the Topsolar 12V Solar Panel Car Battery Charger to your car battery, follow these steps:
1. Choose the appropriate connector: The Topsolar charger comes with both a Cigarette Lighter Plug and Alligator Clip connectors. Choose the connector based on your battery and vehicle setup.
2. Connect to the battery: Attach the selected connector to the battery terminals. For the Cigarette Lighter Plug, simply plug it into the cigarette lighter socket in your vehicle. For the Alligator Clip connectors, connect the red clip to the positive terminal (+) of the battery and the black clip to the negative terminal (-). Ensure a secure and proper connection.
3. Position the solar panel: Place the solar panel in an area with ample sunlight exposure. Ideally, mount it using the provided mounting hardware. Ensure that the solar panel is facing the sun to maximize its charging efficiency.
4. Monitor the LED indicator: The Topsolar charger has a built-in LED indicator that displays the charging status. When connected and receiving sunlight, the LED indicator will show green, indicating that the battery is being charged. When the battery is fully charged, the LED indicator will turn red.
5. Regularly check the battery: Periodically inspect your battery to ensure it maintains the desired charge level. The Topsolar charger will provide a steady trickle charge to keep your battery topped up.
