Cleaning the Mr. Coffee BVMC-BMG25 Burr Coffee Grinder is important to ensure optimal mill function and durability. Here are the steps to clean the grinder:
1. Always unplug the grinder after use and before cleaning.
2. Remove the Grind Chamber by pulling it out of the unit.
3. Twist the Bean Hopper counterclockwise until the arrow on the Bean Hopper aligns with the unlock symbol on the unit base. Then, pull the Bean Hopper out of the unit base.
4. Wash the Bean Hopper and Grind Chamber parts with warm soapy water.
5. Dry all pieces thoroughly.
Note: Do not use abrasive cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive materials. The unit is not dishwasher safe.
6. The upper burr, located underneath the Bean Hopper, is removable to help you clean and remove any coffee beans or foreign objects that might get stuck between the burrs. To remove it, twist the Removable Top Burr Grip clockwise until it stops, then pull it out of the unit. Use the included brush to clean the burr.
7. To install the top burr, place it into place and twist the Removable Top Burr Grip counterclockwise until it stops. You should hear clicks. Pull on the Removable Top Burr Grip to confirm it is locked into place.
8. Install the Bean Hopper by aligning the arrow on the Bean Hopper with the unlock symbol on the unit base and then twisting it clockwise. The arrow on the Bean Hopper should now be aligned with the lock symbol on the unit base.
9. Place the Chamber Lid back on the Grind Chamber and then install it into the unit by pushing it to lock into place.
