Setting up the Yakry C5 Automatic Dog Feeder is a straightforward process. Here are the step-by-step instructions to help you get started:
1. Plug in the included DC 5V/1A power adapter to the feeder and a suitable electrical outlet. This will be the primary power source for the feeder.
2. If you want to have a backup power option, you can also insert three D-cell alkaline batteries (not included) into the feeder. This ensures feeding continuity during power failures.
3. Once the feeder is powered, you will see the display screen and buttons on the front panel.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to set the meal times for your pet. You can schedule up to 7 meals per day. Use the buttons to navigate through the options and select the desired meal times.
5. Next, you can set the portion sizes for each meal. The feeder allows you to customize portion sizes ranging from 1 to 30 portions per meal. Again, use the buttons to adjust the portion sizes according to your pet's dietary needs.
6. If you want to use the voice recording feature, press and hold the designated recording button for three seconds. A prompt sound ("di") will indicate that the recording has begun. Speak into the microphone to record your voice for up to 20 seconds. Press the button again to stop recording, and a confirmation sound ("didi") will indicate that your message has been saved.
7. Once you have set the meal times, portion sizes, and voice recordings, the feeder is ready to use. It will dispense the programmed meals at the scheduled times.
