To clean and descale your Keurig K-Express Essentials K-Cup Pod Coffee Maker, follow these steps:
1. Regular Cleaning:
- Turn off and unplug the coffee maker before cleaning.
- Clean the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp, soapy, lint-free cloth.
- Remove the drip tray and rinse it with warm soapy water. Hand wash only.
- Clean the water reservoir by wiping the inside with a damp, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth. Do not dry the inside with a cloth.
- Periodically hand-wash the water reservoir, lid, and drip tray with warm soapy water and rinse clean. Parts are not dishwasher safe.
2. Cleaning the K-Cup Pod Holder Assembly:
- Lift the handle and remove the K-Cup pod holder assembly by grasping the top and pushing up from underneath until it releases.
- Wash the funnel regularly by pulling it off the K-Cup pod holder.
- Clean the exit needle on the inside bottom of the K-Cup pod holder using a straightened paper clip.
- Clean the entrance needle on the underside of the lid by inserting a straightened paper clip into all the holes.
- Reassemble the K-Cup pod holder assembly by aligning the snaps and snapping it back into place.
3. Descaling Procedure:
- Pour the entire bottle of Keurig Descaling Solution into an empty water reservoir.
- Fill the empty bottle with water and pour it into the water reservoir.
- Place a large mug on the drip tray.
- Activate Descale Mode by pressing and holding the 6 oz and 10 oz buttons together for 3 seconds.
