Cleaning the Hamilton Beach 58160 Portable Blender is important to ensure its longevity and optimal performance. Here are the instructions for cleaning the blender and its components:
1. Unplug the blender and remove the blender jar from the base. Rotate the collar counterclockwise until it comes apart from the blender jar.
2. Remove the travel jar from the base. Rotate the collar counterclockwise until it comes apart from the travel jar.
3. Remove the bowl from the base. Rotate the collar clockwise until it comes apart from the bowl.
4. Wipe the blender base, control panel, and cord with a damp cloth or sponge. Use a mild, nonabrasive cleanser for stubborn spots. Do not immerse the base in water or any other liquid.
5. Wipe the motor shaft with a damp cloth or sponge.
6. The blender jar, travel jar, bowl, cutting blade assembly, chopping/mixing blade, and slicing/shredding disc can be washed with hot, soapy water. Do not use the "SANI" setting when washing in the dishwasher, as it could damage the product. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Take caution when handling the sharp blades.
7. To clean the blender jar, you can use the "EASY CLEAN" function. Pour 2 cups (473 ml) of warm water into the jar and add 1 drop of liquid dishwashing detergent. Run the blender on the EASY CLEAN setting for 10 seconds. Discard the soapy water and rinse the jar with clean water.
8. To clean the travel jar, pour 1 cup (237 ml) of warm water into the jar and add 1 drop of liquid dishwashing detergent. Run the blender on the EASY CLEAN setting for 10 seconds. Discard the soapy water and rinse the jar with clean water.
