To replace the tube in the OttLite 31700R SlimLine Desk Lamp, follow these steps:
1. Make sure the lamp is not plugged into an electrical socket.
2. If the lamp has been in use, allow it to cool for approximately 5 minutes before proceeding.
3. Raise the shade so access to the tube is possible.
4. To install a tube in the socket, hold the tube firmly at the non-base end with your thumb and forefinger. Align it into the socket, then press the base into the socket until it "snaps" into place.
5. To remove a tube already installed in the lamp, grasp it firmly at the free end between your thumb and forefinger. Use your free hand to push your fingers and the tube away from the socket. Do not twist or turn the tube.
6. Take care to prevent the tube end from hitting the shade, as tube breakage may result.
7. Return the shade to the desired position.
8. Plug the lamp into a standard 120V, 60Hz socket. Your lamp is now ready to use.
Please note that the OttLite tubes are not dimmable, and it is recommended to use OttLite type bulbs (style number PL13-E) for optimal performance.
