To fix a squeaky or improperly opening/closing door on your Black and Decker TO1303SB Countertop Toaster Oven, you can follow these steps:
1. Start by removing the top cover of the toaster oven. Use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to remove the six 9.5mm screws on the back panel.
2. Next, remove the two 13mm screws located between the feet on the bottom of the cover. Use a T15 Torx screwdriver for this step. Note that if you have the TO1313SB model, you will need a Security Torx T15 driver due to the screws having a center pin.
3. Using a metal spudger, carefully pry out the rubber base on each foot to access the screws.
4. Remove the 11.5mm screws using a #2 Phillips screwdriver.
5. Gently pull the sides of the back cover apart from the rest of the oven, then tilt the cover towards the face and pull back at an upward angle to remove it.
6. To access the door spring, use needle nose pliers to grasp the hook of the rear spring as close as possible to the coils. Stretch the spring back and, with a twisting motion, pull the hook out of its catch. It is recommended to close the door before doing this and to slowly relieve the tension after pulling it out of the catch to avoid damaging the spring attachment.
7. Pull the front hook out of the spring attachment. When replacing the spring, it is recommended to start by reattaching the hook onto the rear catch, then the front spring attachment. Attaching to the front spring attachment first may cause unnecessary stress and deformation.
8. To reassemble the toaster oven, follow the instructions in reverse order.
Please note that these steps are a general guide and may vary slightly depending on the specific model of your Black and Decker toaster oven. It is always recommended to refer to the user manual for your specific model for detailed instructions and safety precautions.
