To install an M.2 SSD in your PS5 console, follow these steps:
1. Place your console on a soft cloth spread over a flat surface.
2. Go to the control center and select Power > Turn Off PS5. The screen will go blank, the power indicator will flash white, and then turn off.
3. Remove the AC power cord and cables, and wait for the console to cool down.
4. Remove the base and turn over your PS5 console.
5. Slide off the cover by slightly pulling up on it in the direction of the arrow.
6. Remove the xxxx from the expansion slot cover and then remove the cover.
7. Install the M.2 SSD to the expansion connector. Hold the edge of the M.2 SSD and align it with the notch on the expansion connector. Tilt the M.2 SSD diagonally upward and firmly insert it all the way into the expansion connector.
8. Tilt the M.2 SSD down and fasten it with screws.
9. Attach the expansion slot cover and fasten the screws.
10. Firmly push the cover in the direction of the arrow until you hear a "click."
11. Connect the AC power cord, cables, and base, and then turn on the power. The formatting guide will appear on the screen. Follow the on-screen instructions to format the M.2 SSD.
Please note that before installing or removing an M.2 SSD, it is important to touch a metal-grounded object to remove any static electricity from your body. Also, be aware that reformatting the SSD will result in the loss of any stored data, files, or software. It is recommended to back up any important data before proceeding with the installation.
