To clean the Cuisinart CSB-179 Smart Stick Hand Blender, follow these instructions:
1. Motor Body and Blending Shaft: Unplug the hand blender before cleaning. Clean the motor body with a sponge or damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Wash the blending shaft by hand in hot water with mild detergent. Dry thoroughly before use. Do not put the motor body or blending shaft in the dishwasher.
2. Chopper/Grinder Attachment: Rinse the work bowl, blade, and cover immediately after use to prevent food from drying on them. Wash the chopping blade and work bowl in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry. Wipe the underside of the cover with a sponge or damp cloth. The work bowl and chopping blade can be washed on the top shelf of the dishwasher. Wipe the motor body and top of the cover with a damp sponge or cloth. Do not submerge the motor body or cover in water or other liquids.
3. Whisk Attachment: Release the whisk attachment from the motor body housing. Detach the metal whisk from the gearbox by pulling the pieces apart. Clean the gearbox by wiping it with a damp cloth. Wash the metal whisk with warm, soapy water or put it in the top shelf of the dishwasher. Do not submerge the gearbox in water or any other liquids.
4. Reversible Blade: The chopper/grinder attachment is equipped with a reversible blade. To clean the blade, carefully remove it from the sheath, holding it by the gripping ridges on the plastic sheath. Do not touch the sharp blades. Wash the blade carefully and avoid leaving it in soapy water where it may disappear from sight.
It is important to note that the motor body, blending shaft, chopper/grinder attachment, and whisk attachment should not be submerged in water or other liquids. Only certain parts of the hand blender have been designed for immersion into water or other liquids. Always dry the parts thoroughly before use or storage.
