To select a polar pattern on the AKG C414 XLII microphone, use the polar pattern selector located on the microphone's front panel. Press the desired arrow on the selector once or several times to cycle through the available polar patterns. A green LED above the selected pattern will light up to indicate the chosen setting. If you reach the last position available, press the opposite arrow on the selector to select a different pattern. The selected polar pattern will be saved in memory and restored automatically when phantom power is switched off and back on.
