To switch between different recording patterns on the Blue Yeti USB Mic, follow these steps:
1. Locate the pattern selector xxxx on the front of the microphone. It is labeled with the four recording patterns: stereo, cardioid, omnidirectional, and bidirectional.
2. Rotate the pattern selector xxxx to the desired recording pattern. Each pattern is optimized for different recording scenarios:
- Stereo: Uses both the left and right channels to capture a wide, realistic sound image. Ideal for recording acoustic guitar or choir.
- Cardioid: Perfect for podcasts, game streaming, vocal performances, voiceovers, and instruments. Records sound sources directly in front of the microphone, delivering rich, full-bodied sound.
- Omnidirectional: Picks up sound equally from all around the microphone. Best used in situations when you want to capture the ambiance of "being there," such as recording a band's live performance, a multi-person podcast, or a conference call.
- Bidirectional: Records from both the front and rear of the microphone. Good for recording a duet or a two-person interview.
3. Once you have selected the desired recording pattern, the Blue Yeti USB Mic will start capturing audio according to that pattern.
