Cleaning and sanitizing the slicer is an important step to maintain its performance and hygiene. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to clean and sanitize the slicer:
1. Before cleaning, make sure the slicer is turned off and unplugged from the electrical outlet.
2. Wear cut-resistance gloves to protect your hands.
3. Pull the product tray away from the blade.
4. Loosen the carriage release xxxx and remove the product tray.
5. Remove the built-in sharpener.
6. Remove the blade cover by loosening the blade cover xxxx on the back side of the machine.
7. Wash, rinse, and sanitize the removed items, such as the product tray, blade cover, and sharpener, using a neutral detergent and warm water solution. Do not soak the parts.
8. Clean the front and back side of the blade with a water solution spray (50/50 hot water and dish soap) or a degreaser spray. Wipe from the center outward.
9. Clean and sanitize the rest of the machine, including the base, gauge plate, support arm, and hand guard, using a neutral detergent and warm water solution.
10. Make sure all parts and surfaces are fully air-dried before reassembling the unit.
Important Notes:
- Never attempt to clean the slicer while it is in operation.
- Do not put components in the dishwasher or immerse the base in water.
- Do not use a scrubber pad, steel wool, or abrasive material to clean the slicer.
- Exercise extreme caution when working near the blade, as it is very sharp.
