To connect the CMTECK XM551 USB microphone to your computer, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the microphone, USB cable, and any other accessories are present in the box.
2. Take the provided USB cable (USB-C to USB-A) and connect the USB-C end to the microphone and the USB-A end to your computer or laptop.
3. Place the microphone on a stable surface or attach it to a microphone stand if available. Adjust the positioning to suit your setup needs.
4. If a pop filter is included, attach it to the microphone stand or the microphone itself, ensuring it is a few inches away from the microphone capsule.
5. Once connected via USB, your computer should recognize the microphone. You may see an indication light turn on the microphone, signaling it's powered and ready.
6. Go to the sound settings on your computer, and under the recording tab, select the USB microphone as the default device.
7. Use the microphone gain xxxx on the microphone (if available) to adjust the input level to ensure it is neither too low nor too high.
8. Open a recording program or use the sound settings to monitor the microphone levels. Speak at a normal volume to test and adjust the gain as necessary.
