Cleaning the Elite Gourmet ECT4400 Digital Toaster is easy and important for maintaining its performance. Here are the steps to clean the toaster:
1. Ensure that the toaster is unplugged from the electrical outlet and has completely cooled down before cleaning.
2. Wipe the toaster's exterior with a clean, damp, soapy cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleansers or cleaning materials that may damage the surface.
3. Dry all parts thoroughly before reassembling the toaster for use or storage.
4. To remove the crumb tray, hold the toaster in an upright position and slide the tray out and away from the toaster bottom. Empty the crumbs over a garbage can or sink.
5. Clean the crumb tray regularly to prevent buildup. To replace the crumb tray, slide it back into the toaster until it clicks into place.
Note: Never immerse the toaster or plug in water or any other liquid. Avoid using a fork or sharp-edged utensil to remove toast or anything stuck inside the toaster while it is in operation or plugged in, as this may cause damage and personal injury.
