To set the cooking time on the BLACK+DECKER SCD4007 Digital Slow Cooker, follow these steps:
1. Plug in the appliance and make sure it is in active mode.
2. Press the Select button until the desired temperature setting (Low or High) lights up on the control panel.
3. Use the arrow buttons to adjust the cooking time. The slow cooker timer sets in 30-minute increments.
4. Press the Start button to begin the cooking process. The slow cooker will beep and start heating.
5. Once the set cooking time is complete, the slow cooker will automatically switch to the Warm function for up to 4 additional hours. If Warm is selected as the initial temperature, the unit will shut off without any additional time spent at Warm.
6. When you are ready to serve, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds to turn off the appliance. Unplug it from the outlet.
Note: It is important to avoid opening the lid during the first 2 hours of cooking to allow heat to rise efficiently. Each time the lid is removed, the cooking time increases by 15-20 minutes.
