To activate the Cox CM8200 Internet Non-Wifi 3.1 Cable Modem, follow these steps:
1. Plug in the Modem: Connect the coax cable to an active cable outlet and the Modem. Then, connect the power cord to an electrical outlet and the Modem. Wait a few minutes for it to boot up. The Online Light will be solid when it is connected to the network. Finally, connect the Ethernet cable to the Modem (use the top Ethernet port only) and either to the WAN port on your computer or to the WAN/internet port on your router.
2. Activate the Modem: Go online to Cox.com/activate to finish activating your Modem and start personalizing your network. Once activated, surf the web to verify that your internet is working properly.
If you encounter any issues during activation, make sure all connections are tight and completely plugged in. Additionally, try rebooting the Modem by unplugging the power cord from the wall, waiting for 10 seconds, and then plugging it back in. Allow a few minutes for the Modem to reset.
