To use the probe mode on the Hamilton Beach 33969A Set ’n Forget Programmable Slow Cooker, follow these steps:
1. Make sure the probe is in the center of the food and not touching the bottom of the crock.
2. Insert the probe into the jack on the side of the slow cooker.
3. Press the On/Off button to turn on the slow cooker.
4. Press the PROBE button. The "Heat Setting" will be illuminated.
5. Use the arrow buttons to select the desired heat setting (HIGH or LOW). Note that the WARM setting should not be used for cooking food.
6. Press the ENTER button. The "Desired Temp" will illuminate.
7. Use the arrow buttons to select the desired temperature. You can switch between Fahrenheit (ºF) and Celsius (ºC) by pressing the PROBE and ENTER buttons simultaneously.
8. Press the ENTER button. The display will show "COOK" and a 3-second beep will sound. If you don't press ENTER within 20 seconds, the slow cooker will automatically start.
9. The display will alternate between the actual temperature and the temperature you selected.
10. Once the selected temperature is reached, the slow cooker will switch to the WARM setting. It will automatically turn off and display "OFF" after a total of 14 "ON" hours if the On/Off button is not pressed.
