To use the temperature probe feature on the Hamilton Beach 33869 Digital Programmable Slow Cooker, follow these steps:
1. Insert the temperature probe into the center of the food you are cooking, making sure it is not touching the bottom of the crock or any bones.
2. Plug the slow cooker into an outlet and press the ON/OFF button to turn it on.
3. Press the PROBE button on the control panel. The PROBE button will illuminate, and the display will show the default temperature of 180°F (80°C). If the probe is not plugged in, the display will toggle between "PLUG" and "PRbE".
4. Use the up arrow ( ) or down arrow ( ) to select the desired temperature between 100°F and 200°F (38°C-93°C).
5. Press the ENTER button, and the display will show "HIGH". Use the up arrow ( ) or down arrow ( ) to select the desired heat setting: HIGH, LOW, or WARM.
6. Press the ENTER button to start cooking. The display will toggle between the actual temperature and the desired temperature.
7. Once the selected temperature is reached, the slow cooker will automatically beep three times and switch to the WARM setting. The display will show "WARM". The slow cooker will automatically turn off after a total of 24 hours of cooking and WARM time if not turned off. Unplug the slow cooker when finished.
Note: To switch from Fahrenheit to Celsius, press and hold both the PROBE and ENTER buttons at the same time.
