To properly measure your blood pressure using the Alcedo B21 Blood Pressure Monitor, follow these steps:
1. Before starting the measurement, make sure you are seated comfortably in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Relax for at least 5 minutes before taking the measurement.
2. Remove any tight or bulky clothing from your upper arm. The cuff should be placed on the upper left arm, approximately 1/2" to 3/4" above the elbow.
3. Wrap the cuff around your arm, ensuring that the rubber tube is on the inside of your arm and extending downward to your hand. The cuff should be snug but not too tight. You should be able to fit 2 fingers between your arm and the cuff.
4. Position the cuff so that the "Artery Mark" on the edge of the cuff is directly over the artery that runs down the inner side of your arm.
5. Turn on the blood pressure monitor by pressing the START/STOP button.
6. The cuff will start to inflate automatically. The increasing cuff pressure will be displayed on the monitor.
7. Once the cuff has reached the appropriate pressure, the pump will stop and the pressure will slowly decrease. The cuff pressure will be displayed during the measurement.
8. When the device detects your pulse, the heart symbol on the display will start to blink.
9. After the measurement is complete, the systolic and diastolic blood pressure values, as well as the pulse rate, will be displayed on the monitor.
10. Take note of the measurement values and record them if desired.
It is important to note that blood pressure measurements should be taken at the same time each day and under similar conditions for accurate comparisons. Consult with your healthcare professional for further guidance on interpreting your blood pressure readings and any necessary actions to take based on the results.
