To set up the Metene TD-4116 Blood Glucose Monitor for first-time use, please follow these steps:
1. Insert the battery: Open the battery compartment on the back of the monitor by sliding the cover off. Insert one AAA alkaline battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) is aligned. Close the battery compartment.
2. Set the date and time: Press and hold the "M" button until the year starts flashing on the display. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the year, then press the "M" button to confirm. Repeat this process to set the month, day, hour, and minute.
3. Apply a control solution (optional): If you have a control solution, apply a drop to the test strip port. Press the "M" button to enter the control solution mode. The monitor will display the control solution range. Compare the result to the range provided with the control solution to ensure accuracy.
4. Insert a test strip: Open a new vial of test strips and remove one. Insert the test strip into the test strip port with the contact bars facing up. The monitor will automatically turn on and display a flashing blood drop symbol.
5. Apply a blood sample: Use the lancing tool to xxxx your fingertip. Gently squeeze your finger to obtain a small blood sample. Touch the blood drop to the front edge of the test strip. The monitor will start the countdown and display the test result after 7 seconds.
6. Review and store the result: After the test result is displayed, the monitor will automatically store it in memory. You can review the result by pressing the "M" button. The monitor can store up to 450 measurement results with respective date and time.
