Here are the step-by-step instructions for installing the Topvico TP-206W-3 Water Leak Sensor Detector:
1. Install Battery: Before using the detector, install a 9V alkaline battery. Open the battery compartment, place the battery ensuring proper orientation, and secure the compartment.
2. Place the Detection Board: Identify potential leak sites such as near washing machines, dishwashers, water heaters, or in basements. Place the detection board on the floor in these areas, ensuring it lies flat to accurately detect any presence of water.
3. Extend Cable If Necessary: If the default 37.8-inch cable is insufficient, you can extend it. Simply cut the original cable and add additional normal electric wire to reach the desired length. This allows you to monitor areas that are farther away from the alarm host.
4. Secure the Alarm Host: Use the included double-sided tape to mount the alarm host on a wall or sideboard near the detection area. Ensure that the host is installed in a dry location as it is not waterproof.
5. Test the Sensor: After installation, test the sensor by placing a damp cloth or a few drops of water on the detection board to ensure it triggers the alarm correctly.
