To change the battery on your Greater Goods 690 Digital Oral Thermometer, please follow these steps:
1. Pull the cap off of the end of the thermometer.
2. Gently slide the battery tray out to the point where the battery can be removed.
3. Use a pointed object, such as a small screwdriver, to remove the old battery from the tray. Please discard the previous battery according to local jurisdiction regulations.
4. Insert a new 1.5V DC button type LR41 battery into the tray, making sure the "+" polarity is facing up.
5. Slide the battery tray back into place.
6. Put the cap back on the end of the thermometer.

Note: It is recommended to replace the battery when the battery icon appears in the lower right corner of the LCD display.
