To measure resistance using the Fluke 117 Digital Multimeter, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the meter is turned off before connecting the test leads.
2. Select the resistance function on the rotary switch by rotating it to the Ω (ohms) position.
3. Connect the black test lead to the COM (common) terminal and the red test lead to the Ω (ohms) terminal.
4. If necessary, turn on the meter by pressing the power button.
5. Touch the test leads to the component or circuit you want to measure the resistance of. Ensure that the leads make good contact with the test points.
6. Read the resistance value displayed on the digital screen. The unit of measurement will be in ohms (Ω).
7. If the resistance value is too high to be displayed on the selected range, you may need to switch to a higher range by rotating the rotary switch to a higher Ω position.
8. If you need to hold the reading on the screen, press the HOLD button.
