To install the Hills Everyday Rotary Clothesline, follow these steps:
Step 1: Select a suitable location
- Choose an area with a minimum clearance of 500mm (1'7") around the Rotary Hoist.
- Ensure there is enough space for the clothesline to rotate freely.
Step 2: Install the Ground Socket
- Dig a hole 250mm (10") in diameter and approximately 650mm (26") deep.
- Place coarse gravel (about 200mm or 8") into the hole.
- Insert the main standard into the ground socket, making sure the tabs are closed to prevent concrete from entering the locking recess.
- Push the base of the ground socket into the gravel, ensuring it is level vertically.
- Support the main standard and concrete it into position.
- Allow 24 hours for the concrete to set before final assembly and use.
Step 3: Assemble the Hoist
- Place the main standard in the ground socket.
- Insert the bottom of the head assembly into the top of the main standard and lower it gently until it stops.
- Raise the head assembly by approximately 100mm (4") and lower until a 'click' is heard to engage it.
- Check that the head assembly is locked in position by lifting upwards.
Step 4: Operating the Hoist
- To adjust the height of the Rotary Hoist, wind the handle and head assembly down and fit one or more plastic spacers in the ground socket.
- To open, undo the line tie-off cord and push the lower cross and arms up until the latch engages.
- To fold, press the latch to release the lower cross and pull the arms downwards.
- Wrap and fasten the line tie-off cord around the hoist to prevent lines from tangling.
- To remove from the ground socket, unlock the locking collar by rotating it anti-clockwise, lift the Rotary Hoist, and store it in a suitable place.
