To use the Vortex Dead Hold BDC MOA Reticle for bullet-drop compensation, follow these steps:
1. Choose the appropriate Firearm Class that closely matches your rifle and ammunition combination. If your firearm does not fall exactly into one of the listed classes, select the class that is most similar.
2. Sight-in the crosshair at the recommended zero range for that class. Refer to the Product Manual for the proper sight-in procedure.
3. Once the rifle has been sighted-in, you can use the lower hashmarks on the reticle as aiming points at the corresponding distances listed in the Subtension Chart. For example, if you are using Class B (High Power/Magnum) and your target is at 300 yards, use the 1st Hashmark which corresponds to 1.5 MOA.
4. Remember that the listed ranges will only apply when the scope is set to the calibrated magnification. The center crosshair and its corresponding zero distance can be used at any magnification.
Note: The values provided in the manual are a starting point and can be refined at the range or using a ballistic calculator. If you require greater accuracy or have a round that does not fall within one of the classes, you can use the Precision Technique detailed in the manual.
Please refer to the complete Vortex Dead Hold BDC MOA Reticle User Manual for more information and specific details on using the reticle for bullet-drop compensation.
