To connect the Scosche LOC2SL amplifier adapter to your car stereo, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid short circuits.
2. Connect the black wire from the LOC2SL to the chassis ground (vehicle metal).
3. Connect the yellow wire from the LOC2SL to a +12V constant (continuous) power source. If the amplifier is installed nearby, you can tap the yellow wire into the amplifier's +12V battery terminal or wire.
4. Connect the left speaker's +/- input wires to the white and white-black input wires of the LOC2SL. This can be done at the vehicle's speaker location or behind the stereo itself.
5. Connect the right speaker's +/- input wires to the gray and gray-black input wires of the LOC2SL. This can also be done at the vehicle's speaker location or behind the stereo.
6. Connect the blue/white wire from the LOC2SL to the amplifier's "remote turn-on" or "REM" input. Refer to your amplifier's owner's manual for specific wiring details.
7. Connect the RCA audio outputs of the LOC2SL to the amplifier's inputs. The red RCA connector is for the right channel, and the white RCA connector is for the left channel.
8. If you have a mono sub amplifier with a single RCA input, you can choose either the left or right signal from the LOC2SL. It is advisable to use a y-adapter to combine both signals for maximum signal level.
Please refer to the Scosche LOC2SL AMPLIFIER ADAPTER User Manual for more detailed instructions and wiring diagrams.
