To use the Instant Pot Duo Plus for the first time, follow these steps:
1. Before using the Instant Pot, ensure that the sealing ring is properly installed in the lid and that the inner pot is clean and dry.
2. Plug in the Instant Pot and close the lid.
3. Press the "Pressure Cook" button on the control panel.
4. Use the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust the cooking time. The default setting is 30 minutes.
5. Once you have set the cooking time, the Instant Pot will start preheating. The display will show "On" until the desired pressure is reached.
6. After preheating, the display will show the remaining cooking time.
7. Once the cooking cycle is complete, the Instant Pot will beep and automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" mode. The display will show "L0:00" to indicate that the pressure needs to be released.
8. Allow the pressure to release naturally for a few minutes. To release the remaining pressure, carefully turn the steam release handle to the "Venting" position using a long spoon or tongs. Be cautious of the hot steam.
9. Once the pressure is fully released, the float valve will drop, and it will be safe to open the lid.
10. Open the lid away from your face, as the steam may still be hot.
11. Your food is now ready to be served.
