To unlock the lid of the Amana NTW4516FW top loading washer, press the START/STOP/PAUSE/UNLOCK LID button. The lid will unlock once the washer movement has stopped. This may take several minutes if the load was spinning at high speed. Once the lid is unlocked, you can open it to add or remove garments. To resume the cycle, close the lid and press the START/STOP/PAUSE/UNLOCK LID button again.
