To start the Troy-Bilt Pony 42B Lawn Tractor, follow these steps:
1. Sit on the seat: Make sure you are seated in the operator's seat.
2. Engage the parking brake: Ensure that the parking brake is engaged. This will prevent the tractor from moving while starting.
3. Disengage the mower deck: Make sure the mower deck is disengaged. This means that the blades should not be spinning.
4. Turn the ignition key: Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch and turn it to the right to the "Start" position.
5. Release the key: Once the engine has started, release the key. The engine should continue running.
