To set up your Verizon FiOS router, follow these steps:
1. Find the box labeled "Your Equipment" in the installation kit.
2. Underneath that box, locate your Set Top Boxes.
3. Find another box labeled "Wireless Broadband Router."
4. Plug one end of an Ethernet cable into any one of the four yellow Ethernet ports on the back of the FiOS Router. The Ethernet port looks like a large telephone jack.
5. Make sure your computer is turned on, then plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into an Ethernet port on your computer.
6. Wait for at least one of the LAN Ethernet lights on the router to be either solid or flashing green. This may take a few minutes.
Note: If you plan to connect a TV in the same room as your router, you will need a splitter. Connect the splitter IN port to the coax wall outlet, then connect a splitter OUT port to the red coax port on the router. The remaining OUT port will connect to the Set Top Box.
For wireless setup, follow these additional steps:
1. On the FiOS Router, you will find a label that lists the router's preset codes.
2. Take note of the Network Password/Key (WPA2 or WEP) and the Wireless Network Name (ESSID) listed on the label.
3. Launch the wireless application on your device and select the Network Name (ESSID) to connect.
4. When prompted to enter a Network Password/Key, enter the WPA2 or WEP exactly as it appears on the router's label (case sensitive). Then select Connect.
To activate your internet service, follow these steps:
1. Open an internet browser from your computer or tablet.
2. If you are not automatically redirected, go to activatemyfios.verizon.net.
3. Follow the Setup Web Site instructions to activate your Verizon account.
4. Activate your internet service if it was ordered.
5. Follow the Setup Web Site instructions to activate your FiOS TV equipment.
If you encounter any issues during the setup process, you can refer to the Verizon FiOS TV Self-Installation Manual or contact Verizon support for further assistance.
