To clean your Cuisinart SS-15 series Coffee Center, follow these steps:
1. Always turn off the unit and unplug it from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
2. Lift up the Coffeemaker reservoir cover and remove and discard the paper filter and ground coffee.
3. The filter basket can be washed in warm, soapy water and rinsed thoroughly, or cleaned in the upper rack of the dishwasher. Dry all parts after use. Do not put any water in the unit once the filter basket has been removed.
4. Wipe the area under the filter basket with a damp cloth.
5. Remove the carafe from the heating plate and discard any remaining coffee.
6. The carafe and lid can be washed in warm, soapy water and rinsed thoroughly, or placed in a dishwasher. The carafe and carafe lid should be placed on the upper rack only. Do not use any scouring agents or harsh cleansers on any part of the Coffeemaker.
7. Never immerse the base unit in water or other liquids. To clean the base, simply wipe it with a clean, damp cloth and dry before storing.
8. Fingerprints and other blemishes on the housing can be washed off with soap and water or a non-abrasive cleaning solution.
9. Wipe the heater plate with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use rough, abrasive materials or cleansers to clean the heater plate.
10. To clean the water reservoir, use a damp, lint-free cloth to wipe the inside as necessary.
11. Descaling: Depending on the mineral content of the water in your area, calcium deposits (scale) may build up in your Coffeemaker over time. Descaling every 3 to 6 months is recommended. Refer to the descaling instructions in the user manual for detailed steps.
Note: Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.
Please refer to the user manual for additional information and safety precautions regarding cleaning and maintenance of your Cuisinart SS-15 series Coffee Center.
