To program your remote control to open and close the garage door with the Chamberlain B980 garage door opener, follow these steps:
1. Press and hold the button on the remote control that you want to use to operate the garage door.
2. Locate the "Learn" button on the garage door opener unit. It is usually located near the antenna wire or on the back panel of the opener.
3. Press and release the "Learn" button on the garage door opener unit. The opener will emit two beeps to indicate that it is ready to learn the code from the remote control.
4. Within 30 seconds of pressing the "Learn" button, press the button on the remote control that you want to use to open and close the garage door. The opener will emit another two beeps to confirm that it has successfully learned the code from the remote control.
5. Test the remote control by pressing the programmed button. The garage door should open or close accordingly.
