To set up the Home Depot Cornhole game, follow these steps:
1. Find a flat surface: Choose a flat surface, such as a lawn or a paved driveway, to set up the Cornhole boards.
2. Place the boards: Position the Cornhole boards 27 feet apart from front to front. Make sure they are aligned parallel to each other.
3. Check the board dimensions: Ensure that each Cornhole board measures 2 feet wide by 4 feet long. This is the standard size for Home Depot Cornhole boards.
4. Prepare the bean bags: Each player should have four bean bags of one color. In total, there should be eight bean bags, four of each color. The bags should measure 6 inches by 6 inches and contain 1 pound of corn or plastic pellets.
5. Determine the starting team: Use a coin flip to determine which team has honors in the first round. The team with honors will throw the first bean bag.
6. Start playing: The game begins with one partner from the team with honors throwing a bean bag at the opposite Cornhole board. Players take turns throwing their bean bags until all eight bags have been thrown.
7. Scoring: After all the bean bags have been thrown, calculate the scores. Bags that go through the hole earn 3 points, bags on the playing surface earn 1 point, bags hanging into the hole earn 1 point, bags hanging off the edge earn 1 point, bags touching the ground earn 0 points, and bags hanging off the front edge and resting on another bag on the ground earn 0 points unless the bag on the ground can be removed without making the hanging bag fall to the ground.
8. Keep playing: The game continues with alternating throws between the two opponent players until one team reaches 21 or more points.
