To install the Honeywell HZ322 TrueZONE Panel, follow these steps:
1. Mounting: The panel can be mounted with either 2 screws at the centerline to mount onto a 2x4, or with 4 screws at the corners for a wall mount.
2. Wiring: Use 18- or 20-gauge solid wire (not stranded) to connect the panel to the HVAC system and thermostats. Follow the wiring diagram provided in the user guide for proper connections.
3. Power: The panel requires a transformer of 40 VA or more to provide 18-30 VAC power. The transformer is not included and needs to be purchased separately.
4. Thermostat Compatibility: The HZ322 is compatible with most standard thermostats. Refer to Table 1 in the user guide for a list of recommended thermostats. Note that some thermostats may require additional accessories or wiring.
5. Damper Compatibility: The panel can control 2 or 3-wire dampers with open or closed logic. Refer to Tables 2 and 3 in the user guide for a list of recommended dampers.
6. Setup: The panel features an intuitive installer setup with an easy-to-follow digital display. Follow the instructions in the user guide to configure the panel settings according to your HVAC system and zoning requirements.
7. Testing: Before leaving the job, perform a standard checkout procedure to ensure correct operation of the panel. Verify that the stage of heat and damper state are indicated correctly by the LEDs on the panel.
