To set up your iROBOT Roomba j7+ Robot Vacuum, follow these steps:
1. Download the iRobot Home App: Start by downloading the iRobot Home App on your smartphone or tablet. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices.
2. Connect to Wi-Fi: Open the iRobot Home App and follow the step-by-step instructions to connect your Roomba j7+ to your home Wi-Fi network. This will allow you to control and monitor your robot vacuum remotely.
3. Set up Precision Vision Navigation: Once your Roomba j7+ is connected to Wi-Fi, you can set up Precision Vision Navigation. This feature helps the robot avoid obstacles in real-time. Follow the instructions in the app to enable this feature.
4. Customize cleaning preferences: Use the iRobot Home App to set an automatic cleaning schedule and customize cleaning preferences. You can choose specific rooms or areas to clean, adjust cleaning power, and more.
5. Position the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal: Find a suitable location for the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal. Make sure it is placed in a dry area and away from direct sunlight. Keep the area around the dock free of clutter to improve docking performance. Note that the charging station should be placed at least 4 feet away from stairs to prevent the robot from falling.
6. Charging: Place your Roomba j7+ on the charging station to activate the battery. It is recommended to charge the robot for 3 hours before starting the first cleaning job. The light ring indicator on the robot will pulse white when it is fully charged.
7. Cleaning: To start a cleaning job, tap the "Clean" button on the robot or in the iRobot Home App. The robot will automatically explore and clean your home in neat rows, avoiding obstacles using its front-facing camera. It will return to the charging station when the cleaning job is complete or when it needs to recharge.
