According to the Dyson Operating Manual, it is recommended to wash the filter with cold water at least every month. However, if you are vacuuming fine dust, the filter may require more frequent washing. To wash the filter, hold it under a tap and run water through the open end until the water runs clear. Then, turn it upside down and tap out any excess water. Squeeze and twist the filter with both hands to remove the excess water. Finally, place the filter on its side to dry completely. It is important to note that after washing, the filter should be left to dry for at least 24 hours before refitting it into the vacuum cleaner.
