Sure! Here is a step-by-step guide on how to install the orangeIOT Keyless Entry Deadbolt Lock:
1. Prepare the door and check dimensions:
- Measure the hole in the door to confirm it is 2-1/8" (54 mm).
- Measure the backset to confirm it is either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60 or 70 mm).
- Measure the hole in the door edge to confirm it is 1" (25 mm).
- Measure the door thickness to confirm it is 1-3/8" to 2" (35 mm or 50 mm).
2. Install the latch and strike:
- Hold the latch in front of the door hole, with the latch face flush against the door edge.
- If the slotted hole is centered in the door hole, no adjustment is required. Proceed to the next step.
- If the slotted hole is not centered, rotate and pull the latch to extend it. Install the latch in the door using screws or a woodblock and hammer.
- Install the strike on the door frame using screws. Make sure the hole in the door frame is drilled at least 1" (25 mm) deep.
- Test the deadbolt to ensure it works smoothly and aligns with the strike.
3. Install the exterior assembly:
- Before installation, make sure the latch is fully retracted (in the unlocked position).
- Route the cable below the latch and insert the cylinder tailpiece through the horizontal slot in the latch.
- Send the cable through the bottom horizontal slot in the mounting plate.
- Secure the mounting plate with screws. Do not overtighten.
4. Install the interior assembly:
- Remove the battery cover and locate the slot at the bottom.
- Insert the cable connector into the socket and push it firmly until it is fully seated.
- Rotate the thumbturn to a vertical position and make sure the latch is still fully retracted (unlocked).
- Test the operation using the backup key and thumbturn. If the thumbturn doesn't rotate, repeat the previous step.
- Secure the interior assembly with screws.
5. Reset the lock to teach the orientation of the door:
- While the door is opened and unlocked, load 3 AA batteries into the battery compartment.
- Press and hold the Reset button. Do not release the button until the latch bolt extends.
- If the latch doesn't extend within 10 seconds, repeat the previous step, ensuring the thumbturn is always vertical and the latch is always retracted.
