Here is a step-by-step installation guide for the CHORTAU GPS Dual Dash Cam:
1. Front camera installation: Mount the front camera on your car's windshield using the adhesive mount provided. Make sure it is positioned correctly for optimal recording.
2. Rear camera installation: There are two ways to run the wire for the rear camera. You can either install it inside the car or outside the car. If installing outside, you will need to drill a hole in the back of the cab to feed the wire through.
3. Connect the rear camera: Once the rear camera cable is wired, connect the rear camera to the rear cam cable.
4. Two situations you may encounter:
- Situation 1: If your car does not have a built-in reverse system monitor display screen and you want to use the dash cam's reverse function, connect the rear cam cable's red wire to the car's reversing lamp positive terminal. This will switch the display screen to full screen rear view when you reverse the car.
- Situation 2: If your car already has a reverse system display monitor and you only want the dash cam to record the rear view while driving, ignore the rear cam cable's red wire. The display screen will always show a picture-in-picture of both front and rear views.
5. Fix the rear cam above the license plate: Attach the rear camera securely above the license plate using the adhesive mount provided.
Before using the dash cam, keep the following in mind:
- Find a 32GB Class 10 micro SD card for storage.
- Charge the dash cam for 2-3 hours.
- Select your local time zone in the settings.
- Insert the SD card first and format it using the dash cam.
- If you need to view the video GPS path, install the GX player. Otherwise, a VLC video player is sufficient for normal video playback.
