To clean the inside of your Amana Top Load Washer, follow these steps:
1. Check if your model has a "Clean Washer" cycle. If it does, use this cycle with affresh® Washer Cleaner or liquid chlorine bleach to clean the inside of the washer. If your model does not have a "Clean Washer" cycle, refer to the online Cycle Guide for the optimal cycle for cleaning the inside of the washer.
2. If using the "Clean Washer" cycle, open the washer lid and remove any clothing or items.
3. Place an affresh® Washer Cleaner tablet in the bottom of the washer basket. Do not place the tablet in the detergent dispenser.
4. Close the washer lid and select the cycle recommended for cleaning the inside of the washer.
5. Press the START button to start the cycle. For best results, do not interrupt the cycle. If the cycle must be interrupted, press POWER/CANCEL or START/PAUSE (depending on your model) to stop the cycle.
6. After the cycle is complete, leave the lid open to allow for better ventilation and drying of the washer interior.
If you prefer an alternative cleaning method, you can use liquid chlorine bleach instead of affresh® Washer Cleaner. Follow these steps:
1. Open the washer lid and remove any clothing or items.
2. Add 1 cup (236 mL) of liquid chlorine bleach to the bleach compartment. Do not add any detergent or other chemicals.
3. Close the washer lid and select the cycle recommended for cleaning the inside of the washer.
4. Press the START button to start the cycle. For best results, do not interrupt the cycle. If the cycle must be interrupted, press POWER/CANCEL or START/PAUSE (depending on your model) to stop the cycle.
5. After the cycle is complete, leave the lid open to allow for better ventilation and drying of the washer interior.
