To set up your Canon G1020 printer, please follow these steps:
1. Read the Safety and Important Information addendum provided with the printer.
2. Remove any packing materials and orange tape from the printer. Refer to the "Removing Packing Materials" section in the manual for detailed instructions.
3. Install the print heads. Open the print head locking cover and insert the color print head on the left and the black print head on the right. Close the print head locking cover. Refer to the "Installing the Print Heads" section for more information.
4. Connect the power cord to the printer and a power source. Press the ON button to turn on the printer. The ON lamp should light up. If the Alarm lamp flashes or lights up, refer to the troubleshooting section in the manual.
5. Pour ink into the ink tanks. Open the top cover and the tank cap on the left side of the printer. Gently twist and remove the bottle cap, then align the nozzle of the ink bottle with the inlet and pour the ink. Repeat this process for all ink tanks. Close the top cover and press the OK button. The ON lamp will flash as the ink system preparation starts.
6. Connect the printer to your computer. Visit the Canon website (https://ij.start.canon) and select "Set Up." Enter your printer's model name and click "Go." Follow the on-screen instructions to download and run the necessary software. Alternatively, you can use the Setup CD-ROM included in the box. Insert the CD-ROM and follow the instructions to install the software.
7. Load paper into the printer. Extend the paper support and open the feed slot cover. Slide the right-hand side paper guide to the far right and load several sheets of paper with the print side facing up. Slide the side paper guide against the edge of the paper stack and close the feed slot cover. Extend the paper output tray.
8. Your Canon G1020 printer is now set up and ready to use.
