To program a new security code for your Sports Afield gun safe, follow these steps:
1. Wake up the keypad by pressing any number on the keypad.
2. Enter the preset factory code [1 5 9 #]. You will hear a beep with each button push.
3. If you have a Haven Series safe, you will need to enter the code [1 5 9 #] again. For all other models, simply enter the code [1 5 9 #].
4. With the door open, rotate the handle counter-clockwise to extend the locking bolts.
5. Locate the small copper cap near the battery compartment on the inside of the safe. Unscrew and remove the cap.
6. Press and release the reset button. You will hear a beep and the yellow light on the E-lock will illuminate.
7. Enter your new 3 to 8 digit security code using the keypad.
8. Confirm your new security code by pressing the [*] symbol.
9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 to confirm your new security code at least 3 times.
10. Reinstall the copper cap over the reset button and close the door.
It is important to note that if the code fails, you will hear three beeps. In that case, repeat the steps until your code is accepted. If the incorrect security code is entered 3 times, there will be an automatic lockout for 20 seconds before you can try your code again. If 3 additional failed attempts are made, the keypad will lockout for 10 minutes.
Make sure to test your new security code by turning the handle and unlocking the door before shutting the safe.
