Cleaning and descaling your Keurig K-Supreme Plus Single Serve coffee maker is essential for maintaining its performance and ensuring the best-tasting coffee. Here are the instructions to clean and descale your coffee maker, as outlined in the user manual:
1. Cleaning:
- Periodically hand-wash the water reservoir, lid, and drip tray with warm soapy water and rinse clean. Do not use vinegar-based cleaning products to clean the outside of the brewer.
- Do not dry the inside of the water reservoir with a cloth as lint may remain.
2. Descaling:
- Descaling is necessary to remove mineral buildup from inside the brewer. It is recommended to descale every 3-6 months, depending on usage and water hardness.
- To descale your coffee maker, use Keurig® Descale Solution.
- Fill the water reservoir with the entire bottle of descaling solution and add water to the MAX FILL line.
- Place a large mug (10oz minimum) on the drip tray.
- Lift and lower the handle, then press the 8oz button to start the descaling process. The solution will be dispensed into the mug. Discard the solution in the sink.
- Repeat the process until the "Add Water" indicator appears on the screen.
- Rinse the water reservoir thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
- Repeat the brewing process without a K-Cup® pod to rinse the brewer.
- Discard the water in the mug and repeat the rinse process until the "Add Water" indicator appears again.
- Your brewer is now descaled and ready to use.
Note: To turn off the descale notification, follow the full descaling procedure as outlined in the user manual.
