To clean the filter on your Bissell ProHeat, please follow these steps:
1. Turn off and unplug the machine before attempting to clean the filter.
2. Locate the filter on the machine. The filter is typically located in the top portion of the foot of the carpet cleaner, under where the dirty water tank sits on the foot.
3. Twist the bottom plate counterclockwise until it clicks into locking place. This will allow you to access the filter.
4. Remove the filter from the machine. Depending on the model, the filter may be part of an assembly that includes a cap. If so, remove the cap and filter together.
5. Wash the filter with warm water and a mild detergent, such as dishwashing liquid. Gently scrub the filter to remove any dirt or debris.
6. Rinse the filter thoroughly to remove any soap residue.
7. Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinstalling it into the machine.
8. Once the filter is dry, reassemble the filter and cap (if applicable) and twist the bottom plate clockwise to secure it in place.
9. Plug in and turn on the machine to ensure that the filter is working properly.
