Sure! Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to perform the BinaxNOW COVID-19 Ag Card Home Test:
1. Wash or sanitize your hands and make sure they are dry before starting.
2. Open the pouch and scan the QR code on the card. The card must stay flat on the table throughout the test.
3. Apply 6 drops of extraction reagent from the dropper bottle to the top hole of the swab well. Hold the dropper bottle straight over the top hole and add the drops slowly.
4. Open the swab package at the stick end and take out the swab. Keep your fingers away from the swab end.
5. Insert the entire absorbent tip of the swab into your left nostril. Firmly brush against the insides of the nostril in a circular motion 5 times or more for at least 15 seconds.
6. Remove the swab from the left nostril and insert it into the right nostril. Again, firmly brush against the insides of the nostril in a circular motion 5 times or more for at least 15 seconds.
7. Keep the card flat on the table and insert the swab tip into the bottom hole of the card. Firmly push the swab upwards until the tip fills the top hole.
8. Turn the swab 3 times clockwise in the card and leave it in place.
9. Peel the adhesive liner off the card without removing the swab. Keep the card flat on the table.
10. Close the left side of the card over the swab to seal it. Keep the card face up on the table.
11. Wait for 15 minutes without disturbing the card. Do not read the results after 30 minutes.
12. After 15 minutes, scan the QR code on the card and show the result to your telehealth proctor.
Result Interpretation:
- Positive Result: Two pink/purple lines will appear, one on the top half and one on the bottom half. This indicates that COVID-19 was detected.
- Negative Result: A single pink/purple line will appear on the top half where it says "Control." This indicates that COVID-19 was not detected.
- Invalid Result: If no lines appear or if the control line is blue instead of pink/purple, the test may be invalid.
Remember to follow the instructions in the manual for reporting your test results to relevant public health authorities.
