To install the American Farm Works Solar Powered Fence Energizer, follow these steps:
1. Mount the Fence Energizer: Depending on your setup, you can choose between a Solar T-Post installation, Solar Wood Post installation, or an Adjustable Mount. Adjust the angle of the energizer based on the seasonal dials to maximize sunlight exposure.
2. Connect Ground and Fence Terminals: Your fence energizer will have two types of terminals - strip wire and connect the hook-up wire to the GROUND terminal. Ensure there is wire-to-metal contact. Then, connect the hook-up wire to the FENCE terminal.
3. Connect to Ground System: Connect the hook-up wire from the fence energizer to the ground terminal. This completes the grounding of the system.
4. Connect to Fence Line: Use appropriate clamps (Galvanized line clamp for Aluminum/Steel/Poly wire or Poly tape connector clamp for poly tape) to connect the fence line to the energizer.
5. Power Fence Energizer: The switch to power on/off the energizer is located on the left side. Set it to "O" for off and "-" for on. Note that the energizer will start outputting voltage at this point, so avoid touching the fence terminal or fence wire to prevent getting shocked.
