To set up the answering system on the vtech DECT 6.0 cordless telephone, please follow these steps:
1. After installing your telephone or when power returns following a power outage and battery depletion, the handset will prompt you to set the date and time, and to configure the answering system through voice guide.
2. To set the date and time, follow the voice guide prompts. For example, if the date is 25 December 2019 and the time is 10:59 AM, enter the corresponding numbers as instructed.
3. After setting the date and time, the handset will display "Voice guide to..." and "set up Ans sys?" alternatively. This feature assists you in the basic setup of the answering system.
4. Follow the voice guide prompts to record your own announcement, set the number of rings before the answering system picks up, and choose the message alert tone.
5. When the handset prompts you to set up the answering system via voice guide, input the designated numbers as instructed to complete the setup.
