To manually clean your Braun Series 9 shaver, you can follow these steps:
1. Switch on the shaver (cordless) and rinse the shaver head under hot running water until all residues have been removed. You may use liquid soap without abrasive substances. Rinse off all foam and let the shaver run for a few more seconds.
2. Next, switch off the shaver and press the release buttons (2) to remove the Foil & Cutter cassette (1).
3. Let the Foil & Cutter cassette dry completely.
4. If you regularly clean the shaver under water, apply a drop of light machine oil on top of the Foil & Cutter cassette once a week. This helps to maintain the performance of the shaver. Note that this step is only applicable to models 9080s w&d/9040s w&d.
5. Clean the inner area of the pivoting head using a brush. Switch off the shaver, remove the Foil & Cutter cassette, and tap it out on a flat surface. Use the brush to clean the inner area of the pivoting head. Do not clean the cassette with the brush as it may damage it. The Foil & Cutter cassette can be attached either way without impacting the shaving performance.
