Sure! Here are the step-by-step instructions for installing the Hornbill Smart Lock:
1. Install the Deadbolt:
- Measure your door's backset dimension (2 3/8" or 2 3/4").
- Insert the deadbolt into the door frame, ensuring the word "UP" is facing up.

2. Install the Strike Plate:
- Align the strike plate with the center hole of the deadbolt.
- Secure the strike plate with the provided strike screws.
3. Install the Front Panel:
- Measure your cross bore dimension and determine the installation steps accordingly.
- Use the provided front panel screws to install the front panel.
- Make sure the flat ruler is in a horizontal position and the deadbolt is unlocked when installing the lock.
- Route the IC wire connected to the front panel under the deadbolt.
4. Install the Mounting Plate:
- Route the IC wire through the special hole in the mounting plate.
- Fix the mounting plate onto the front panel using the provided mounting plate screws.
5. Install the Back Panel:
- Check and adjust the toggle button on the back panel based on the direction of the hinges.
- Match the IC wire connector from the circuit board with the one from the back panel.
- Align the flat ruler with the key cylinder and secure the back panel with the provided screws.
6. Install Batteries:
- Insert 4 AA batteries into the battery compartment, matching the polarity indicated.
